Watch Daddy Shower

Ok, you are probably going... What the @!#$???

I think every parent enters the phase of... "my kid says whatever she wants to WHOMEVER she wants"...at some point.

Let's start the story with this, my daughter is really interested in being naked.  All of her dolls have to be naked, she LOVES being naked, and when she hears the shower turn on she comes RUNNING.  She just really likes to see what is going on.  It's her free spirit I guess:)

Well, the other day Luci and I were going to run to Hobby Lobby.  Kyle had been working all day and was a mess, so as we were saying bye he told me he was going to hop in the shower and would see me when we got back.  I packed the little lady up and headed off.  We spent a little time in hobby lobby just giggling and playing and then it was time to check out.  We were standing there at the checkout counter with 2 people behind us and the clerk started talking to Luci.  She got really shy and didn't want to talk.  The kid wouldn't say anything.  Then at the very end when the clerk hands me the receipt Luci looked right at the lady and in her BIGGEST voice says... "Go home, watch daddy shower??"  Yes, that's right,  she just asked that lady if she could go home and watch daddy shower.  UMMMMMMMMMMM.... AWKWARD!

I just started laughing.  I mean, how do I explain this???  I just started laughing and ran out the door.

Then, the other day we were at my sister in law's house and Luci pulled up her dress and yelled... "Luci's BOOBIES!!!"  UMMMMM... yep those are Luci's boobies but we should probably not show EVERYONE!

So there you have it.  I have officially entered the phase of "my kid will say ANYTHING at ANYTIME!"

Tell me I'm not alone here!  What have your kids said/done at the WORST time ever?

  1. My kids never said anything too embarrassing, but our daughter did insist on going to the store in her Halloween devil horns near Christmas. A man there said, "Oh, she's a reindeer!" I didn't have the guts to say, "No, she's a devil."

  2. Crack me up! We haven't had anything too bad- he'd much rather tell you about some adventure he's had- but he loves the shower, too! I don't know what it is! :)

  6. Lydia has been obsessed with the idea that I now make milk for the baby. Because if the whole premie, NICU, pumping situation she is suddenly not only seeing mommy's private parts but also seeing a lot of large mechanical equipment. I am too embarrassed just thinking about what she will say about the whole thing at preschool next week! Probably a good thing I can't drive for a while.... I won't be the one to find out!

  7. well luci isn't the only nude afficianado. as my niece nicole just recounted at her sister cait's wedding.....cait spend the first 5 years of her life either nude or only with diaper. then we found a pic of her at probably around 10, in the water with my and her cousins, with no top on and little boobs. she was dying with fits of laughter. 'look. i'm 10. i almost have boobs and i'm still walking around half naked.'

as far as the saying embarrassing things, i think we start to regress like that as we get older. you just begin to not really care what other people think!

  8. Hahah that's amazing! According to my mom when I was little, I liked to embarrass her too. When I was around three,we were at some party where my parents didn't really know anyone. Well, as my dad was introducing himself to some people, I walked over and proudly said, "My daddy has BIG holes in his underwear!" Loud enough of course for everyone in the room to hear.
    Ah...From the mouths of babes..
